Giving back to the communities where we live and work is a cornerstone of the HCIM Culture. During our recent visit to Tampa, Colleagues spent the afternoon at A Kid’s Place painting bathrooms, decorating for an upcoming party, working in their donation room, and even provided a little support in their office.
A Kid’s Place provides residential services to children from birth to age 18, who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
This organization provides comfort and support with a focus keeping siblings together. Under many circumstances sibling groups may be separated due to various factors including housing availability, age groups, and even special needs. Their Siblings Connected program and House Parent model are what make A Kid’s Place unique, as brothers and sisters are allowed to be placed together in a safe and loving home-like environment. Their campus includes five homes where children live with their House Parents in what for is often times the first positive family setting they have been exposed to. This model provides an opportunity for these children to begin healing from the trauma they’ve endured.
Our time spent at A Kid’s place was fun and meaningful for all HCIM Colleagues. We are grateful that this incredible group opened up their campus to us and we were able to see firsthand the difference they are making in these young peoples lives. Visit their website to learn more about their campus or like them on Facebook to keep up to date on their activities and events.
